Can You Be Gay and Christian?

Updated: Feb 18, 2020

The simple and only answer is YES!

How is that possible? I thought homosexuality was a sin and an abomination? I thought that the Bible says that homosexuals will not inherit the Kingdom of God?

These are all questions that I'm sure you've asked yourself if you are a person of faith who found yourself attracted to the same sex. They are questions I asked myself--not once--but a million times. I think that is what is so frustrating for many LGBTQ+ believers--people assume that we don't ask ourselves the hard questions and that we have no desire to live for God.

Au contraire mon frère, we have an intense desire and are passionate about aligning our lives with God.

Like seriously, who would willingly sign up to go to hell or be rejected by God they believe in? NO ONE!

We desire to follow Him with all of who we are. We desire to serve Him and be a living sacrifice. And if we could choose to not feel or be "this way" --WE WOULD. But it's not a choice.

So does God reject me because I am gay/queer? No, ma'am. God does not.

Does Bible-believing, spirit-filled Christians reject me because I am gay/queer? Yes, sir, some of them do.

Don't they represent God--NO!

Being a Christian has nothing to do with membership in a church or belonging to a certain denomination. Christianity is not a social club--as some people have made it. It is not an institution of morality or ethics either. It is a spiritual identity. In the spirit realm, in Christ, there is neither male nor female, Jew or Greek, neither slave or free, etc. Galatians 3:28

Your identity as a child of God is completely separate and higher than your physical, social or romantic expressions in this physical realm.

So yes, you beautiful creation, you can be gay, lesbian, bisexual, transgender, queer, questioning, intersex, asexual, pansexual, demisexual ALL OF IT and Christian.

You are loved!
